The DCO-7526 Doppler flow transducer is compact and easy to use. It can be used to measure water velocity and water level in rivers, streams, open channels or large pipes. It is designed for use with a wide range of water qualities. Ranging from sewage to wastewater treatment, sewage plant, charged liquids and even sea water. It can also provide measurements on clearer waters such as drinking water, dams and rivers, irrigation etc. The instrument is bi-directional and can measure and store instantaneous and cumulative flow in pipes or open channel applications.

The new model DCO-7526 includes a new velocity algorithm. The ultrasonic transducer is contoured to reduce flow disturbance and electronic signals. It is designed to be placed at the bottom of the water channel for upstream measurement. A single cable connects the instrument to a 12V DC power source. Water velocity is measured by the ultrasonic Doppler principle using suspended particles or air bubbles in the water to reflect the signal from the ultrasonic sensor. The depth of the water is measured using a hydrostatic pressure sensor, with reference to atmospheric pressure.
